Your responsibilities will include examination, treatment, collections care, storage and display, working in liaison with curators, designers, technicians, learning officers, volunteers, and other conservators. You will have a recognised conservation qualification or equivalent, and ideally at least five years experience plus professional accreditation. Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as are flexibility, pragmatism and diplomacy. Experience of managing others and of conservation in a museum setting will be advantageous. Assistant Antiquities Conservator UKP23,952 to UKP26,928 Maternity cover, offered in the first instance as a six-month contract We seek an enthusiastic, self-motivated conservator to carry out examination, treatments, and to participate in the care, display and storage of antiquities. You will work in liaison with a range of museum staff and conservators. You will have a recognised conservation qualification or equivalent, and ideally two to three years work experience. Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as are flexibility and pragmatism. Experience of working in a museum setting, and demonstration of progression towards professional accreditation, will be advantageous. Project Conservator UKP29,859 to UKP32,487 Fixed term contract to 31 December 2009 We seek an enthusiastic and self-motivated conservator to play a key role in the Heritage Lottery funded project to transform Bristol's Industrial Museum into the new Museum of Bristol. Your responsibilities will focus on care, movement, storage and display of objects, working in liaison with curators, designers, architects, technicians, learning officers, volunteers, and in-house and free-lance conservators. You will have a recognised conservation qualification or equivalent, and ideally at least five years experience plus professional accreditation. Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as are flexibility, pragmatism and diplomacy. Experience of project management in a museum setting, and of social history and industrial collections, will be advantageous. Conservation Development Officer UKP29,859 to UKP32,487 Fixed term contract to 31 March 2008 We offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated conservator to work with museums across Bristol, Gloucestershire and North Somerset. The focus of your responsibilities will be providing help and advice on a range of conservation issues. You will have a recognised conservation qualification or equivalent, and ideally at least five years experience plus professional accreditation. Experience of managing others and of conservation in different museum settings will be advantageous.
