The Swiss National Library preserves printed or other library goods with a connection to Switzerland. As a book and paper conservator (70%, starting on 1 October 2007) you work in the preservation and conservation department of the Swiss National Library. With your team and with the entire department you help to maintain the the long term preservation of the collections in assessing scientifically, documenting and treating books and paper in a well equipped laboratory. You are head of projects, train interns in your field and prove your professional knowledge in national and international working groups. The minimal qualifications consist of a Masters in conservation and professional experience as a book and paper conservator. You have a high degree of initiative, accountability, judgement and flexibility.You speak either German, French or Italian and you master a second of these languages as well as English. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
