Subject: Workshop on materials for exhibition construction
The Midwest Art Conservation Center Presents the Workshop: "Choosing Materials for Exhibition Construction and Display: A Matter of Preservation" This one day workshop will provide instruction on choosing appropriate materials for use in exhibit construction and display. Discussion and lecture will provide specific material examples and highlight issues such as off-gassing and acidity. Learn which materials to use and others to avoid. As well as when and how to use props, barriers, reproductions, vitrines, etc. The workshop lecturers will be Neil Cockerline, Director and Elisa Redman, Assistant Director of Preservation Services. Registration fees for this workshop will be $125 for nonmembers or $100 for MACC members. Staff and volunteers from institutions with a total operating budget below $50,000 per year and currently enrolled students qualify for a reduced fee. Please contact our office for more details. MACC accepts credit card payments. The workshop will take place on September 17, 2007 at the Wells Fargo museum in downtown Minneapolis from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
