Senior Paper Conservator International Conservation Services (ICS) International Conservation Services (ICS) <URL:http://www.icssydney.com> has a vacancy for a Senior Paper Conservator working in Sydney, with the appointment of the present incumbent to a new role within the company. ICS provides innovative solutions for the conservation and management of cultural heritage in Australia and overseas. The company conserves a wide range of heritage objects and artifacts including paintings, furniture, textiles, paper, sculpture, archaeological artefacts and wall finishes in buildings. ICS operates in five divisions, namely Materials Conservation, Collections Management, Architectural Conservation, Exhibition Management and Interpretation. Within the Materials Conservation division, we have six sections covering Paintings, Paper, Textiles, Furniture, Sculpture and Objects. The company is undergoing sustained growth in all divisions at present, and currently has over 30 staff working in Sydney and Canberra, with projects across Australia, and in New Zealand and Antarctica. The Senior Paper Conservator is responsible for the management of the paper section, including budgeting, managing staff, dealing with clients, and providing condition assessments, identifying appropriate conservation treatments and undertaking the conservation of a wide range of paper objects, in particular works-of-art on paper. He/she is also involved in the broader development of the Materials Conservation division with the opportunity for wider multi-disciplinary projects. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
