Refreshments provided by New York University Libraries 6:15pm-6:30pm: Mindell Dubansky BCNYC upcoming events and announcements 6:30pm-8pm: Presentations Jennifer Waxman, "Preserving New Media in Archival Collections: Lessons from the Martin Wong Collection" Jennifer Waxman has her B.A. from Barnard College and her M.A. in History with a Certificate in Archival Studies from New York University. While a graduate student at NYU, Jennifer interned at both the NYU Barbara Goldsmith Preservation and Conservation Laboratory and the University Archives at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. She has assisted on archival projects at the Tamiment/Wagner Labor Archives and worked full-time as the Archival Coordinator at the American University in Cairo. Currently, she is the Project Archivist at the Museum Archives of the Museum of Modern Art. Fletcher Durant "Into the Wild? A Summer of Conservation of Historic Newspaper/Wallpaper in Skagway, Alaska" Fletcher Durant is a third-year graduate student at the University of Texas' Kilgarlin Center for the Preservation of the Cultural Record. He is currently interning at the New York Public Library's Barbara Goldsmith Conservation Lab. Before returning to school, he undertook pre-program work at the Library of Congress, Wesleyan University, and the Smithsonian Institution Archives. Mary Oey "A Case Study on Paint Consolidation during the Rebinding of Morgan Library and Museum MS M. 365" Mary Oey is a recent graduate from the Conservation Center and Institute of Fine Arts at NYU where she was a student of Margaret Holben Ellis. Through independent studies with Alexis Hagadorn and with Laura McCann, she expanded her focus to include books and completed her fourth-year internship in part at the Herzog August Bibliothek in Germany and with Maria Fredericks and Frank Trujillo at the Morgan Library and Museum. Currently she is working at the Morgan Library on a special digitalization project of the music manuscripts. Angela Campbell "Waiter, Waiter, My Menu's Burning!" Angela Campbell is currently a second-year conservation student at Buffalo State College. She worked for four years at the Frick Collection prior to enrolling at Buffalo State and worked as a pre-program intern at the Sherman Fairchild Center for Works of Art on Paper at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Angela spent this past summer as a conservation intern at the New-York Historical Society where she worked on a large collection of menus that had been badly damaged in a fire.
