The top 100 books in conservation (for Cyprus)

I am looking for suggestions from conservation professionals on what
publications to include on a list of the top 100, essential
publications, in English, on conservation applicable to the
materials, conditions and needs in Cyprus.  I have secured funding
to purchase and deposit these 100 essential conservation
publications in a publicly-accessible educational facility in
Cyprus.  A draft of publication categories is attached below.  Any
constructive suggestions would be welcome even if it is only one
name in one category.

The cultural remains in Cyprus are abundant, important and diverse
and range from the Neolithic Period to the modern day, with
especially abundant sites from the Classical Period and the Middle
Ages.  The remains are similar to what is found elsewhere the
eastern Mediterranean and in the Middle East during these periods.
The focus of this initial list is on the more generalized
conservation of historic architecture and cultural sites, not on
fine art object conservation, although there is overlap especially
in conservation science.  Currently there are no courses or programs
in conservation offered anywhere in Cyprus and students and
professionals must go abroad to study conservation.  In addition,
access to current professional publications is expensive and
difficult, especially in the northern part of this divided island.

These publications are intended to allow the local authorities to
better understand the nature of the conservation problems they
encounter, to ask better questions, and to better understand
potential solutions and the proposals from their consultants.  We
all know that there are no standard answers for most conservation
intervention and that actual conservation work should be carried out
only by properly trained and experienced professionals. It is being
made clear to the Cypriots that these are not "cook books" to be
followed blindly, but are fundamental references for better
understanding conservation problems.  Hopefully this conservation
library will serve as an important resource to educate and encourage
local students, allied professionals, and administrators of cultural
sites to protect Cypriot cultural heritage.

Thank you in advance for your input.  I intend to share this list
with the conservation community when it is complete.  We have a
chance to make a real difference with this.
