Andrew W. Mellon Advanced Training Fellowship in Painting Conservation National Gallery of Art Conservation Division The painting conservation department will host a three* year fellowship commencing in October 2008 that includes a $30,000 stipend. The fellowship will be devoted to conservation treatments at the National Gallery of Art and research related to the collections. The fellow will be expected to produce a publishable paper based on his or her research project before the end of the appointment. Lectures, symposia, and informal discussions contribute to the fellowship program, as do the significant resources of the Gallery, including the library, photographic archives, and the scientific research department. Graduates from recognized training programs or candidates with equivalent training will be considered. Applicants should have no more than five years of work experience. A proven record of research and writing ability as well as English language skills are required. Fellowships are awarded without regard to age, sex, nationality, or race. Selected finalists who are not United States citizens must provide proof of their own health insurance coverage during the fellowship period.
