Non-ferrous as well as ferrous metals are covered. It includes condition assessments and analyses, as well as guidance on remedial techniques, specifications and selected repair methods. Latest developments in the techniques of cleaning using lasers are discussed, along with the use of cathodic protection as a remedial solution to rusting cramps and leading practitioners will demonstrate repair techniques. The course also covers history of manufacture and use of iron, corrosion science, the latest developments in cathodic protection, the science of electrotype forming, surface preparation and painting and provides a unique 'hands-on' opportunity in the Forge.
