Textiles: From Household Goods to Museum Artifacts Presented by the Intermuseum Conservation Association Saturday, February 2, 2008 9am-5pm Join nationally-known textile educator Camille Myers Breeze for this full-day, hands-on workshop on the care and handling of historic textiles. Topics will include: fiber identification; care, handling, and storage of textiles; conservation supplies; museum collection policies; and packing exercises. Workshop participants will be provided with sample archival storage materials (including Hollinger polypropylene textile boxes and acid-free tissue), vendor catalogs, and instructional materials for further study. The workshop will be held at the ICA Conservation Center in Cleveland, OH. Registration is limited to 20 participants, to ensure maximum student/instructor interaction. Cost is $85 for members, $100 for non-members.
