Professor, part time Applied Museum Studies Program Algonquin College 1385 Woodroffe Ave Ottawa, Ontario Hours: 5 hours per week Rate of Pay: $34.00 per hour Closing Date: December 21, 2007 The Applied Museum Studies program of Algonquin College is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, innovative and highly motivated individual to provide instruction in the field of remedial conservation treatment as part of the curriculum of the Applied Museum Studies advanced diploma program. The successful candidate will have knowledge of remedial ferrous, silver and ceramic treatment and proven experience undertaking preventive care of the same that meets current museum and gallery standards. Responsibilities will include delivery of course curriculum and assessment of student performance. Basic Qualifications: Must possess a degree or training in conservation or related field, from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution Minimum of five years full-time experience within museum, gallery or private practice. Knowledge of various methods and practices of treating ferrous, silver and ceramic collections. Knowledge of various preventive conservation methods for ferrous, silver and ceramic collections.
