British Association for Paintings Conservator-Restorers (BAPCR) Location: The Art Workers Guild 6 Queen Square London WC1N 3AR Wednesday 30 January 2008 6:30pm drinks for 7pm start Dr Marilyn McCully Picasso Specialist, Independent Art Historian, London The Art Historian's identification of enamel paints in works by Picasso and Picabia Dr Marilyn McCully will provide a fascinating insight into the world of the art historian at one of the BAPCR's popular meetings. This evening lecture will consider the techniques art historians use to identify enamel paints, focusing on the works of Picasso and Picabia. Highlighting the importance of collaboration between the disciplines Dr McCully will look at art historical documentation, including archival evidence and early critical writings, as well as anecdotes concerning the artists' use of Ripolin. There will be the opportunity to ask questions after the lecture as well as the chance to relax and catch up with colleagues.
