Advanced Internship in Conservation The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts One year non-taxable bursary of UKP15,000 starting February 2008 The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts at UEA Norwich is offering a one-year Advanced Internship in Conservation to a recent graduate of a recognised conservation programme. The internship will combine studio practice and research and will develop and broaden the intern's knowledge and experience working alongside experienced practitioners in the Sainsbury Centre's busy Conservation Studio. Ideally, candidates will have a specialisation in paintings or three dimensional objects and a specific interest in modern works of art. The internship will focus on the UEA Collection of Abstract and Constructivist art and it is hoped the project will help stimulate contact and build relationships with comparable Collections both nationally and internationally. This project will support current research undertaken at the Sainsbury Centre on the conservation of modern and contemporary works of art. The intern will work under the supervision of the Sainsbury Centre's Conservator and will also have the opportunity to work on projects relating to the routine work of the Conservation Studio, linked to exhibition and display programmes and preventive Conservation strategies. The internship will start in February 2008 and the selected candidate will be awarded a non-taxable bursary of UKP15,000 for the year, payable quarterly in four equal instalments from the first full month of the internship. Closing date: Monday 21 January 2008.
