Senior Paintings Conservator National Galleries of Scotland Salary: UKP29,699 - UKP36,784 The National Galleries of Scotland is currently seeking a senior paintings conservator to join their established conservation department. The NGS permanent collection is displayed at four sites in the centre of Edinburgh. Dating from the early Renaissance to the present day, it comprises 65,000 works including over 5000 paintings by some of the most important artists through history, modern and contemporary art, as well as portraits of great Scots and the world's most comprehensive collection of Scottish art. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a busy department: supporting the exhibition and loans programme and undertaking major restoration projects and research in areas of traditional painting and modern and contemporary art. As a senior member of the team the post will play a significant role in the development of the department.
