Forthcoming ICON Gilding and Decorative Surfaces Group Events Moulding and Casting Day An all day event on Tuesday 10 June, 2008, at Buckinghamshire New University, High Wycombe. Following on from the last very successful Day with Dr Campbell Norman-Smith, the aim of this practical seminar is to introduce the conservator to the varied uses of Silastic T4 and other cold cure rubbers. These rubbers produce versatile moulds in exquisite detail and have the added benefit of being very durable. Participants will have the opportunity to put into practice what has been demonstrated and will receive comprehensive documentation on the techniques. Please note that this is a new stand-alone Day and the seminar content differs from the previous Mould Making Day, which focused on hot-melt rubbers. Icon Members UKP70, non-Members UKP95.00 and students UKP50.00 (prices include all materials); 15 places available. To pay for and secure a place please contact Dr Campbell Norman-Smith +44 1494 522141 ext 3410. The techniques and examples will be demonstrated by Paul Tear MBE (formerly of The Wallace Collection). The day will be very much hands-on and participants will have the opportunity to practice the techniques demonstrated and will leave with detailed seminar notes.
