Dutch company working from the Netherlands focussed on collection
management and conservation of objects and collections with
cultural, historical and/or emotional value. Within the specialism
of preventive conservation Helicon is the prototype of the
Generalist. Our field of expertise is wide. In the market Helicon is
known for her level of competence, knowledge, commitment and
reliability. Our client expects a pragmatic approach, good
cooperation and regular feed back.

Services Helicon provides vary from consultancy to actual execution
of projects. This includes risk assessments, climate control,
housing, storage, renovation, registration, collections management,
moving of collections, Integrated  Pest management, condition
reporting, couriering and damage control, planning and prevention of
disasters. At this moment the Helicon can boast of a team of 7
members.

Due to expansion of our activities we are looking for a
Conservator/restorer consultant for 40 hours per week

Function content: The consultant will be involved in a wide variety
of projects ranging from safe guarding historic interiors during
renovation to registration and cleaning of objects and collections.
In close cooperation with the client you will provide a clear and
concise assessment of the problem or situation at hand and come to a
complete and solid solution and approach. You will also be
responsible for drawing up a plan of execution, budget and
performance Other aspects will be the promotion of Helicon in the
market, building and maintaining of a network of professionals,
scientists and (possible) clients and acquisition of work.

We are asking for: Candidates with higher professional or Universal
training and working and communication skills. We prefer a candidate
with a background in conservation. You will need to have a wide art
and cultural historical reference and interest. You will have
experience and a keen interest in  Preventive Conservation. You will
be familiar with museums, objects and collections.

Keywords are: decisive, vigorous, service and solution orientated
and flexibility. Further you will have a talent to improvise and
organise with the ability to communicate on various levels. And you
will be able to judge quality. Experience in project work is
essential and experience with work in a museum is a preference.
