Subject: Vibration
Does anyone know of methods for securing objects in churches or museums (e.g. showcases) from vibrations caused by traffic, building works, etc.? At the moment I am trying to find preventive methods to protect a baroque church altar (height 15 meters) against vibrations caused by blasting during tunnel-building under the church. Later there will be trains driving through the tunnels and probably producing more--and different types of--vibrations. Can anybody tell me about their experiences and provide concrete examples of vibration absorbers in use to protect cultural heritage?
