<URL:http://www.contemporaryconservation.com>, a New York City-based
conservation studio, specializing in the conservation of
contemporary art, is seeking a permanent full-time conservator for
painting and sculpture, starting in January 2009.

Our current team consists of three full-time conservators, project
manager and office manager. The studio is located in Manhattan's
gallery district of Chelsea and works closely with major galleries,
private collectors, museums and artists.

The applicant should be a graduate of a recognized conservation
training program, specialized in the conservation of contemporary
art and have at least two years of post-graduate experience. He/ she
should have practical knowledge and experience in the conservation
of both paintings and sculptures, which often involve non-
traditional materials and techniques. The conservator should be well
versed in the theoretical discourse of our profession. He/she should
be able to work as part of a team and also be comfortable making
independent decisions. The ability to work under a tight deadline is
essential.

collaboration with artists, investigation of new materials, and
challenging treatments.
