Conservator of Works on Paper Courtauld Gallery Courtauld Institute of Art UKP28,998-UKP35,542 pa depending on knowledge and skills The Courtauld Gallery is one of the world's finest small museums with outstanding collections and an acclaimed programme of temporary exhibitions. Set in historic Somerset House in central London, the Gallery is an integral part of the Courtauld Institute of Art, an international centre for the teaching and study of the history of art and conservation. The Gallery is seeking to appoint a conservator who will be responsible for the conservation and preventive care of The Courtauld's collection of approximately 7,000 drawings and 20,000 prints. The postholder will help to deliver the Gallery's conservation plan, undertaking routine conservation and mounting work as well as substantial treatments; you will also be required to support the Gallery's busy exhibitions and loans programme as well as contributing technical and other specialist research. A recognised qualification in the conservation of works on paper, and specialist knowledge and experience of conserving works on paper are required. The successful candidate should also have knowledge and experience of technical research and recent developments in the field.
