Chalk drawings

I conserved a chalk board from (I think) the 1960s a few years ago.
I was quite surprised that the chalk was not particularly friable
and did not require consolidation.  I was able to brush vacuum the
board without damaging the chalk, and placed the board in a Perspex
case for display.
