Subject: Passive environmental control
Susie Clark asked about possible automatic controls for vents in a proposed insulated store. A similar system was installed by architects in the sports and community hall at Woolfardisworthy (pronounced Woolsery) in Devon, although it was controlled by carbon dioxide levels rather than a thermostat. Greenhouses frequently use thermostats to control vents, so the systems are quite common. <URL:http://www.ecodesign.co.uk/ WebText/Woolsery%20full%20leaflet.pdf> <URL:http://www.lowcarbonbuildingsphase2.org.uk/ filelibrary/presentations/nottingham/ LCBP2_Woolfardisworthy_Community_Hall.pdf> **** Moderator's comments: The above URLs have been wrapped for email.
