Perhaps some more details on what is meant by "abrasive potential of
plant on metal" would be helpful. I know I have recently read up on
air-abrasive materials, which included a list of hardnesses of
abrasive media in comparison to hardnesses of metals. Included in
the list of media was walnut shell, corn cob grit and other organic
media, but I'm not sure if this is what is meant in the posting. I'm
sure there is extensive literature out there on grit blasting media,
and the companies that supply shell grit and corn cob grit (Grit
O'Cob) could probably provide a number of leads.
