RSVP FinnClare<-at->aol<.>com or Clare Finn: +44 20 7937 1895 Following on from the talk Dr. Bronwyn Ormsby, Senior Conservation Scientist at Tate, gave in October 2007, half way through the Tate AXA Art Modern Paints Project (2006 - 2009), this talk will present the project's major findings with an emphasis on results pertaining to practical issues. This soon to be completed AXA Art funded project has consisted of five important aspects relating to the wet-cleaning and preservation of acrylic emulsion paints and paintings including: general paint properties; cleaning solution efficacy; varnish removal; dirt deposition and the evaluation of surface cleaning treatments on acrylic emulsion paintings from Tate's collection.
