Subject: Icon receives support for internship program
The Institute of Conservation (Icon) is pleased to have been awarded UKP490,000 to provide 20 additional internships in the conservation of objects, interiors and collections. On 5 October, 2009, the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) announced seven projects, under its existing Training Bursary Programme, that are set to benefit from an additional UKP2.85m investment--creating an extra 220 training places overall up to March 2012. Icon is very pleased to be included in this extended scheme. HLF's UKP7m Training Bursary Programme, originally launched in 2004, has been a resounding success, and Icon has maintained an excellent track record within the programme, with a 98% success rate for those completing placements going on to secure jobs or further training in conservation in the UK. Icon will announce details of the new scheme in the next few weeks on its website <URL:http://www.icon.org.uk/> For further information about the HLF programme, see <URL:http://www.hlf.org.uk/hlfbursaries> *** Conservation DistList Instance 23:12 Distributed: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 Message Id: cdl-23-12-006 ***Received on Saturday, 10 October, 2009
