Conference Conservation in Focus 2010 (CF10) Cardiff University, Wales, UK 24-26 March 2010 The Institute of Conservation (Icon) is the lead voice for the conservation of cultural heritage in the UK. Icon will be holding its first ever conference in Cardiff, Wales's vibrant capital city, to consider the broad theme of UK Conservation--past, present and future. The first day of the conference will comprise of a plenary session for those attending the conference and will focus on the two themes: 'evidence based decision making in conservation' and 'a sustainable future for UK conservation'. The second day will provide the opportunity for the Icon groups to host specialist half day seminars. The conference will open with a welcome reception at the National Museum of Wales on the evening of Wednesday 24 March and an evening reception will be held on Thursday 25 March at Cardiff Castle where delegates will have the opportunity to have guided tours of the recently conserved interiors. On the afternoon of Wednesday 24 March delegates may also take advantage of an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the newly constructed Glamorgan Record Office in Cardiff before it opens to the public. Alternatively there will be a PACR clinic for PACR candidates at the National Museum of Wales.
