Subject: Invisible ink
On behalf of a colleague Nicole Hayes <nicole [at] ica-artconservation__org> writes > I was at a symposium recently and one of the speakers > recommended rare books be marked with invisible ink (visible > under UV light) so as to be traceable. He assured the audience > that these inks were archival, and called them "Identi-kits." Several years ago Kurt Johnson, a student at the School of Information, wrote an excellent paper on invisible inks, concentrating on their use in espionage and the military. It is a 34 page paper with a 4 page bibliography and contains some material that is difficult to find. The paper was never published, but Kurt is willing to share it.
