Removing marker ink

Does anyone have any data or experience with removing (red) markers
ink from an unvarnished (white) painting surface? Extraction or
washing probably won't be possible due to small particle size of
ink. Markers type is unknown. I am interested in any data on
bleaching/discolouring.
