The Graphic Arts Division of George Brown College requires for its Binding and Finishing Department a person with a well-rounded knowledge and skill in Antique Book and Document Restoration, as well as techniques for Conservation of Paper. This person will possess the qualities for developing a part-time course leading to a possible full-time program for Antique Book and Document Restoration.

The individual must be able to develop the necessary curriculum, recommend space requirements, necessary equipment and facilities, and have the capacity to build such a course to the extent of meeting the needs for a full- time post-secondary program. CONSERVATION EDUCATOR

The School of Library Service, Columbia University, has a faculty vacancy available March 1, 1981, for an experienced book conservator to teach beginning and advanced book conservation laboratory practice. Duties include administering the laboratories. Requirements: masters degree or equivalent; extensive full-time experience in book conservation treatment; teaching experience desirable. Rank: assistant professor. Salary: minimum salary $20,000 for nine-month academic year. DIRECTOR
International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and the Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM)

Applications are invited by Council for the post of Director, which will fall vacant in May 1981. Candidates, preferably between 40 and S5 years of age, should have university degrees in either the exact sciences or the humanities and should have exercised important functions, other than administrative, in the conservation of cultural property for which they are well known. A curriculum vitae should be submitted in duplicate stating which languages are spoken, written or understood, English and French being compulsory and a fair knowledge of Italian desirable. At the date of taking up his appointment the new Director should be free from all activities that might divert him from his main task.

The Director is appointed for two years and the Council has the authority to renew his contract twice without declaration of vacancy (Art. 62 of General Assembly Regulations).

The Director will be resident in Rome. The post carries diplomatic privileges and a salary correlated with FAO grade P5/I commencing, currently, at $35,615 net with allowances, Literature describing the activities of ICCROM nay be requested from the Director. CONSERVATOR AND HEAD OF CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT

Responsibilities: Direct conservation program for research and rare book library of ca. 1, 250, 000 volumes, 5,000,000 manuscripts, 60,000 maps. Manage Conservation Department with 11 full tine staff as well as part-tine staff and volunteers. Serve as advocate for conservation in institutional policy deliberations. Oversee maintenance of conservation policy and procedure manuals. Monitor and maintain prevailing conservation standards for care, storage, and treatment of collections.

Qualifications: Graduate degree in conservation, librarianship or related field; or equivalent experience. Training and experience in book or library conservation. Administrative experience and strong managerial skills.
