• This fall's class at Columbia University's three-year program in conservation (described in the February issue) includes four students: Roberta Chalfant, Kathleen Hanson, Gail Harrison, and Janet Mitrone-Smreczak. The two-year program for preservation administration has eleven students: John Barone, Janet Baldwin, Wesley Boomgaarden, Lynn Jones, Sally Roggia, Kathleen Steves, John Townsend, Duane Watson, Theodore Kuzen, Laura Linard, and Sherry Byrne.
• Anne F. Clapp, author of "Curatorial Care of Works of Art on Paper," announces that, following retirement from regular employment at the Winterthur Museum, she has opened a studio for the conservation of art and artifacts on paper at 1207 Delaware Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19806. • Norman Shaffer is the representative to the standing committee on preservation of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA). During 1978-80 he was the Preservation Officer at the Library of Congress. The committee, more properly known as the Working Group on Preservation, was founded in 1973. Its first task was the compilation of a world-wide list of restoration institutes, ateliers, laboratories, workshops, etc., working exclusively, mainly or occasionally for libraries. This list was published in the IFLA Journal, 1: 210-219, 1975.
• Marian Dirda, Merrily Smith, and Heather Veneer so- instructed two day-long workshops on paper conservation for the Professional Picture Framers Association convention in New Orleans.
