- Connie Brooks, Associate in Library Services (Conservation) for
the Division of Library Development in the New York State Library,
is the one who will be coordinating the New York State
Conservation/Preservation Program that was described on the front
page of the September issue of this Newsletter. (For correction and
background, see "Corrections" on the Editor's Page.) Her address is:

- Bruce Plumley arrived inn September from Andover, England (near
London) to work as journeyman bookbinder for the Colonial
Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, Virginia. He will be
responsible for training of apprentices inn the shop and developing
a restoration program.
- Babette and Daniel Gehnrich, both of whom recently completed
binding apprenticeships in Germany, are now working at the Thistle
Bindery in Northampton, Massachusetts with David Bourbeau.
- Robert Strauss has left the University of Minnesota, where he
was manager of the University Bindery, to join the staff of Library
Binding Service. He will be heading a new division of L.B.S. that
will develop and market a number of archival products and services
designed for use by conservators, librarians, binders and others
involved in the care of paper-based materials. His new address is:

- Pamela Fae Cole is currently in an internship in the
Conservation Laboratory at the Folger Shakespeare Library in
Washington, DC.
- Michèle Hyacinthe and Stéphan Ipert travelled
around the United States last summer, visiting bookbinding shops and
conservation labs in libraries, museums and conservation
organizations. They were very impressed by the quality of the work
they saw and gratified by the welcome they received. They would like
to thank all of their hosts for this experience. They go on to say
that they now teach book and paper conservation inn a Parisian
school of bookbinding. Mr. Ipert is at 3, rue Gustave Flaubert,
