The International Conference on Biodeterioration of Cultural Property (ICBCP) was held at Lucknow, India, in 1989. This was the first meeting on biodeterioration of cultural property and its control in the world. At that meeting, 53 regular papers were presented by participants from 11 countries. The second conference in this series, ICBCP-2, will be held at Yokohama, Japan, in October, 1992. The committee is now soliciting papers covering topics closely related to biodeterioration of cultural property and its control: the actual conditions, causes and mechanism, relevant environments, control methods and restoration techniques, with special emphasis on input from tropical and subtropical countries and on wooden and paper materials.
All presentations must be in English; simultaneous translation will be provided between Japanese and English.
