The watermark below was originally on two pieces of paper that were fitted together to get a photocopy of the whole, so the building's columns may have been shortened a bit in the process. Can anybody identify the manufacturer and give an approximate date of manufacture? There are plenty of books on watermarks, but they focus on watermarks from previous centuries. (This was a request submitted to the Abbey Publications office.)

The following notice was in ICCROM Newsletter 17, p. 37. It probably relates to book and paper conservation as well as museum conservation. "In the framework of the ICOM Conservation Committee, information on specific problems concerning conservation under tropical conditions is being gathered. Marianne Tidcombe, whose work on Cobden-Sanderson resulted in a Ph.D. in 1984, will be lecturing in the U.S. in April, and is willing to speak at other venues. The subjects of her lectures are: "The Doves Bindery," "The Binding of the Kelmscott Chaucer," and "Fake Doves Bindings." She is willing to give all three, or any of the lectures singly.
