The Book Conservation Catalog is patterned after the Paper Conservation Catalog, which systematically documents all good ways of performing paper conservation procedures, without endorsing any particular procedure
The section that is closest to being done is probably the sewing section, but it needs reviewers. [This Catalog is a project that binders and book conservators both here and abroad will be very interested in, as each part is published. It should not be allowed to lapse. -Ed.]
Carrie Ann Calay (Conservation and Preservation Services, 530 Hampshire Street, Unit 300, San Francisco, CA 94110-1417 (415/552-7889), would like to hear from other people (book, paper and photo conservators) who have observed color changes in prints or other materials hinged with Filmoplast P-90 pressure-sensitive tape. She has observed such a print, only seven years old, on which the ochre ink of the image turned "greenish ochre" over the hinge. She made her appeal in the WAAC Newsletter for January.
