Muncie, Indiana
George McCulloch, founder of the Muncie Star Press in Muncie, Indiana, was honored with a statue in 1917. It was conserved in 2000, reviving community interest. These students from the Burris Laboratory School art department made a replica of the statue from plaster of paris and donated it to the newspaper, which displays it in the lobby of their office building.
Students from Ball State and Dr. Joan Schreiber also got involved, creating activities based on the statue and George McCulloch's life. Check them out:
