PENETRATION AND PLACEMENT OF ALKALINE COMPOUNDS IN SOLUTION-DEACIDIFIED PAPER
George B. Kelly, & Stanley Fowler
4 CONCLUSIONS
In conclusion, we see that the many factors controlling the penetration and placement of alkali in papers for deacidification can combine to produce considerable variation in the results obtained. Yet, these variations need not be troublesome if the causes are understood. In certain instances, knowledge of these effects can be used to advantage by the conservator.
