MOUNTING SYSTEMS FOR ETHNOGRAPHIC TEXTILES AND OBJECTS
Gail Sundstrom Niinimaa
ABSTRACT—Safe mounting systems for ethnographic textiles and objects are necessary to minimize damage while on display. The Glenbow Museum in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has been developing various systems for exhibiting ethnographic material over the last five years. The author describes several methods that have been used to exhibit textiles and objects safely in both travelling and in-house exhibits.
