BARBARA H. BERRIE received a B.Sc.(Hons) from St. Andrews University, Scotland, in 1977 and a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Georgetown University in 1982. She held a National Research Council Research Associateship at the Naval Research Laboratory from 1982 to 1984.
