Re: pellon

Pellon is a non-woven fabric commonly available in fabric stores by the yard. It's a backing material that comes in a array of stiffnesses. At the archive I worked previously we used it with great success (we started using it before the oven trick was discovered, but we didn't have room for an oven anyway). Anyway you spend $.79 for a big sheet of it and cut it up into strips.
