Many surviving RCA and some Victor papers,
mainly technical, are at the Hagley Museum in Delaware.
Papers from the Victor period, i.e., through c.
1928, are in the posession of the Eldridge Johnson family in Wyoming but, I
understand, are being transferred or copies are being made for the Eldridge R.
Johnson Museum in Dover, DE.
Many papers which cannot be found at Victor can be
seen at the EMI archives.
We have been fortunate to belong to the generations
of record researchers who have, over the years, been getting
increasing access to record company files. When I was a lad, they
were top secret.
Having said all that, it should be understood that
papers in the perview of the legal departments rather than the company archives,
descendents of the listing departments, may well never have been
inspected by most record scholars.
