arsclist instant press records 1940s

I have some jazz band records on instant press records 
from early 40s. 

How can they be cleaned, transferred, played?

What are best sources of online and print information on 
this type of audio?

Where is the largest collection privately or in a 
library of instant press jazz recordings? Were any great 
musicians recorded on them?

Please identify yourself as audiophile, librarian, other 
etc. in response por favor.
