I had some CDRs that had a sticky feel to them - I will never buy cheap
unbranded CDRs again - and they stuck to the plastic window in the paper
envelope. Tore the reflective surface away.  That's a problem with the CDR,
not the envelope, but I site it as an example of packaging gone awry. From
now on I use slim cases only, the CDR surfaces do not touch the case. It is
suspended from the center hole.

If it doesn't say acid free I would not assume. I would check with the
maker.

What is the verdict on the paper with plastic window envelopes for CDs, when
it comes to conservation? Water-based permanent inks are safe; I imagine the
plastic jewel boxes are inert; the envelopes I've seen don't state their
being acid-free. What is the research on this?
