Was not the 1905/06 patched-together "Ernani" issued by Fonotipia in a
printed album? It is generally considered to be the first opera set though
it has multiple singers for most roles. I've never seen a set - there may
be none in existence in that form - but I was able to collect all the sides
on tape so that the result could be documented by Chris Zwarg on TrueSound
Transfers.
Failing that, surely the well-known "Pagliacci" of 1907 was in an album -
at least the "premium" release with Paoli.
