Media Sciences offers CD-R recorder test services. The writers are
evaluated to Philips/Sony Orange Book standards. Results are clear and
objective, and have not been questioned by manufacturers. The project
would be doable if similar services are available for other forms, and
if modest funding were available.
"Anecdotal" test results would contain significant risk in that test
results would not be scientific and related to the proper standards, and
that the media used for testing might be of questionable origin.
