"Bad" is rather subjective, and many problems could cause improper
tracking.

1. The disc may have been of poor quality as new, and a minor amount of
degradation may have pushed it over the edge. The solution is to replace
the disc. Arrowkey's CD/DVD Inspector helps you to identify such discs
and to make a copy before they become unreadable.

2. The disc may have scratches or other damage. The only solution is to
replace the disc. Attempts to remove scratches can be disasterous.

3. The disc may have surface debris from careless handling If it is
loose debris then remove it by wiping gently and radially with a soft,
lint free material. If the debris adheres to the surface, and you are
willing to irreversably damage the disc, you can try a weak solution of
Ivory Liquid (no detergents or solvents) in slightly warm water, wiping
radially with the solution with soft, lint free material, then rinsing
and drying immediately.
