I've done work on some of these formats and done appraisals on similar ones.

There are no hard-and-fast rules.  The principles outlined in the various
IRS publications apply as well as common sense.

The most important thing to bear in mind when considering items such as
these is that they are to be priced at their fair market value as defined in
those publications.  At a minimum, that meas at least one other person would
have to be competing for thesel, at least theoretically and, much better, in
actual fact.

Very few institutionally funded archives are directly active on ebay, so it
is by no means the only data source.
