Steven and all,

I copied the information about the Creative sound card directly from the Creative web site, and then removed (I thought) all the formatting.  If it triggered something untoward, I apologize.  In fact, I got:

Rejected posting to ARSCLIST@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

the first time I tried posting, so I manually went through to reformat everything.
