Overview
Records management and information technology (IT) struggle with an increasing problem - how to retain digital information over extended periods of time without loss. This session will introduce key concepts of effective media stability and relate them to existing media options. With change a constant in information management, the discussion will include future media options now in development that will be the means for the eventual migration of data from current formats. Finally, the session will offer some practical advice on the cooperative effort between records management and IT to facilitate the implementation of a reliable media solution that assures retrievability.
