I might add that storage in a full-height jewel case would be recommended,
since this provides a semi-rigid surround that prevents anything from
touching either the entrance or the label surface.

Although storage at cold temperatures might sound like a good idea, as it
retards chemical change, it does create the risk of delamination. Various
layers can have different thermal coefficients of expansion, especially
"hard coats" or printable surfaces.
