Re: [ARSCLIST] William Mulholland audio?
The aqueduct was opened in 1913, and Mulholland himself died in 1935. None of his projects were through the WPA - it was formed the year that he died. Always controversial, he was widely reviled after the St. Francis Dam collapsed in 1928, and was forced to retire.
I was hoping that as a controversial and newsworthy figure that he may have been interviewed on radio or on a recording.

Hi, Jeanette,
If this was a WPA project (it may have been too early), there should be
stuff at National Archives. WPA did a lot of public service transcriptions
which may not be electronically analyzed. I'd look around for an idex to
these in some govt file.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] William Mulholland audio?
I have a researcher who is helping to organize a museum for the Los Angeles
Dept. of Water and Power. He is hoping to discover if there is any audio
recording of William Mulholland out there.
He has already checked with UCLA, and found film footage, but no audio.
If any of you are aware of any type of recording, please let me know, and I
will forward the information.
Thanks,
Jeanette
