There are a large number of professional amplifiers that are convection
cooled, so they have no fans. In these applications it is not just the
noise people worry about, it is that they may be located in an equipment
rack away from people. Were they fan cooled, the fan could fail or the
air cooling path clogged by dust without anyone noticing until it was
too late.

Unbelievable. I don't suppose it would help to suggest playing only
quartets in E Major (Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Paganini)?
