From my experience, not much of it recent: My main DAT deck has always
been a Sony (2300) and I have found that it plays DATs recorded on
virtually all kinds of recorders effortlessly, while several Panasonic
3700s really prefer DATS recorded on their own kind. However, I keep a
3500 near to hand just in case. I've observed that Panasonics require
regular adjustment while at least my Sony has only needed one alignment
in its nearly 15 years life. Will there be any NOS heads when the time
comes? Rhetorical question...
